The Crop Circle

The Paperclipping Community of Scrapbookers

Welcome to the June monthly challenge.  Summer is nearly here in full swing, but remember its not good to be out in the sun for too long, so lets get inspired to make some crafty creations!!  I'm really excited about this months challenge topics, so lets jump right in and see if they spark inspiration for you!!

{remember, your entry only has to be based on one of these topics, and we'll be super impressed if you tell us a little about your design approach and decision making process.}

Challenge 1 - Electronics and technology is now an integral part of our lives, and part of Noell's relationship with her siblings as we have seen in this mini book called "Electronic Love Letters'.  For this challenge create a layout or project that focuses on technology or electronics in some way.

Challenge 2 - We love that Noell has used packaging from Prima as a page in her minibook in this album.  Show us how you have incorporated packaging or labels into a layout or project.

Challenge 3 -  In Noell's layout called 'its all about the details', Noell talks about how she combines a mix of styles on one project, using both romantic, flourishy products alongside more organic, grungy elements. For this challenge, show us how you have mixed two different styles to create a fantastic combo.

Challenge 4Inspired by this beautiful layout, we want to see how you have used corrugated cardboard on a layout or craft project.

Challenge 5 -Lets whip out all those old alpha stickers and create a layout or project which primarily focuses on letters as a main design feature, just as Noell has done in this PB&J layout.

Challenge 6: Short on time but still want to participate in the challenge? Why not use your scraps to make a layout with a grid format, like this 'Silly Random Thoughts' layout, or a mosaic feature like this 'T' layout.

Challenge 7: P is for Paperclipping and C is for challenges! So many people find it difficult to find a title for their layouts. So for this challenge topic we want to see layouts or projects that focuses on a letter and tells us what that letter is for. (i.e. A is for...B is for....Q is for...). Noell gives us some great suggestions in this video, so check it out to be inspired.

Post your creations here by midnight (pacific time) June 30th.  All are welcome to join in the fun.  We can't wait to see your creations.  Max 3 entries per person.

And don't forget to tell all your friends to join in too!! ♥

Wow, love your examples, Lesley! Can't wait to see what others do!
Love your examples Lesley...

That is sure to inspire others
Great Challenges this month Lesley. Your examples are fantastic. I hope to have at least one project finished in the next few days and I have an idea for another one. I am inspired.
WOW 7 categories lots to choose from now I need to get busy and do at least 1.
Thank You Lesley for all the choices.
Technology Challenge: Just the other day Allison, our 6 year old, was watching me check emails on my iphone and she said "remember you used to have a phone that flipped up with real buttons?" Technology is moving so fast that even a six year old is marveling at the changes. I made this photocollage of all the buttons in our house a while back and Noell Hymann's Paperclipping June Challenge about technology gave me the perfect excuse to finally make a page about all those buttons in our house:
I tried to add it but not sure it worked - its on my blog: http://kissandtellscrapbooking.typepad.com

What an awesome idea! It would have never occurred to me to hone in on buttons specifically, but you're so right!

Someday you're going to be laughing really hard at some of those buttons! Love the collage. Thanks for joining in!
i love this layout katie. all the button photos give a really artistic approach to something we see and dismiss every day. i love that youve used polka dot background paper (like circular buttons) and then recreated this feel when adding the word 'button'. the fact that you've put real buttons on there cracks me up. its really cool. love it!
Fantastic layout - love the way you captured this huge part of life now a days.
so freakin cool :)
wow, this is awesome. the coptic stitch is soooo very pretty, especially with the leather, and thie makes the book look really proffessional, and the corrurgated cardboard makes it look very cool, and quite grungy. not sure how you can get rid of the lint, maybe use a varnish, or varnish spray - that might help, but it might give it a glossy coating which may not look as good. a great idea for an experiment though.
I love the corrugated cardboard on your mini it looks great with the spine & strapping.
Can't wait to see it finished

I guess I don't worry about the raw cardboard. I've made several minis using it as a cover and they are well viewed and it didn't seem like a big problem. I guess it just adds to the distressed look.

If you do use a fixative of sorts let us know how it turns out (use it on a scrap piece not this beautiful book gaps lol)
OK, I see discussion but where exactly do I upload a page under a challenge group? I'm new to most of this and I get lost in forums. I am ready to admit I am "forum challenged"!
