The Crop Circle

The Paperclipping Community of Scrapbookers

First we want to thank everyone who participated last month.  We really appreciate each and every one of you for your creativity & unique talents.  We need you to help us continue to grow the Paperclipping Monthly Challenge so spread the word & keep on submitting.  You are all an inspiration to us.

I can't believe it's October...  that means the holidays are right around the corner.  Fall is my favorite time of year.  The colors of the trees are beautiful and the weather is finally cooler after this brutally hot and humid summer.

So with the beginning of a new month that means new challenges to inspire you.

Please only submit new layouts that have not been submitted to prior challenges.

1.  Halloween Challenge - October means Halloween...many of you are crazy about this holiday.  We'd love to see your projects for this theme.  There are some awesome paper lines out there to really inspire you & make your photos shine.  Your project can be layouts, something to decorate your home (banners, bags, pumpkins, etc), mini book, etc..  Listen to Paperclipping Roundtable for loads of inspiration here.

Here's a Halloween layout I made last week.  My son (pictured left) looks a little too good dressed as a woman... *scary*.  He took the photo with his phone so it's not the best but I never let that stop me from using not so great photos to capture a memory.

2.  Re-purpose Mini Book Challenge - We love being "green" & re-purposing items in our lives and crafting.  Noell made a great handmade book in this episode & blog post .  Paper towels are perfect for pages.  So for this challenge look around your house & see what you can use in a creative way to make a mini book.

3.  Scrap Embellishment Clusters Challenge - Paperclipping gals love their scraps... the trend is to make embellishments for your pages.  We want to see what you can come up with using your scraps.  Noell  does a great job inspiring us in this blog post & video.

4  Same Product Different Ways Challenge - I don't know about you but I love this type of article in scrapbook magazines.  It's so interesting to see how different the same product can look when you think outside the box.   So for this challenge use a product not only on 2 different projects but that would be too easy... we want you also use the product in a way it wasn't intended.    If you need some inspiration check out Noell's post& video here. She really shows some great  (for this one you can submit multi projects and they will only count as 1 against the 3 limit)

5.  Inspiration Adventure Challenge - Did you know there is a blog in addition to the main page on the Paperclipping site.  This post Noell wrote really inspired me to get out there & look at the world around me in a different way.  She shared so many beautiful photos - some of spectacular things & others were everyday items but all had a bit of that wow factor all the same.  We challenge you to take your own Inspiration Adventure & scrap those photos in a layout or mini album.

Post your creations here (by replying to this discussion) before midnight (pacific time) October 31st.  All are welcome to join in the fun.  We can't wait to see your creations.  Max 3 entries per person.

i love that halloween layout, so fun and quirky. Can't wait to see what other fun projects are entered into this month's challenge! Good luck everybody!
Great papers. So who won the September challenge or are you not doing winners anymore?
Rosann
Rosann the winner was posted on the Paperclipping blog here http://www.paperclipping.com/2010/10/18/september-monthly-challenge...
Beautiful LO, now which one is your son? (hee hee)

This is for #2. I repurposed a tattered deck of cards into a family mini album. I also used old 3x4 labels. I printed tiny prints onto the labels and then used the sticky labels to decorate the cards. They just fit. I went a little crazy and now have a bunch of stickers to use for scrapping. I printed small pics of my family and mounted them on the cards and even added some embellishments. I was able to get all my girls, all my grandkids and both of my great grandsons. I wanted to carry them with me but wasn't sure what to put them in and then I saw the box - perfect! I covered the box with more "sticker paper" and cut a piece out of the flap so the chain would fit.. I put an eyelet in one corner and fastened them together with a chain from our old fan. Being me I had to add ribbons, yarns and a charms. I carry it in my purse and wish I could make all the orders I've received but it would take months. I've always loved mini items and I've got to say that this is one of my favorites! Sorry for the glare on the photo. It's one of my grandkids and one of my cat.

How cute is this, thanks for sharing
Fabulous idea - what a great little mini in a box - the simplicity really lets the photos shine. Thanks for entering your creation.
Wow, I love how you re-purposed SO MANY items and the clever way you made it all work! That is awesome. The dangly things make it so charming and inviting!
I love the top border with the jack 'o lanterns, the word strip underneath, and then the line-up of photos! It's a great setup for a Halloween layout and I like how the photos really stand out from the decorating. The contrast puts the photos first.

Here's a recent Halloween layout I did.
Corinna
Is that fabric? It's so pretty and give the layout such nice texture! The stitching around it gives it a great frame effect. And I love the horizontal line that anchors the whole piece, along with the pretty flower and blingy flourish!

I sort of got on a roll and did 3 layouts for Halloween recently. This is the second one. I used my Pazzles Inspiration cutting machine to make that spider web. It really is supposed to be a 12x12 paper lace, but I blew it up and stretched it out to use on my 8.5x11 layout.
